Landing Gear

  • Will the brake calipers hit the pavement in the event of a flat tire? [Answer: no]
    • May require spacers between the axle and gear leg, and shorter brake lines
    • Use high-strength bolts to accommodate the increased moment arm
  • Figure out how the hole for the tail spring attach bolt should be finished, and what hardware to use in it
    • Use an MS21042-?? "jetnut" (link)
  • Replace the flat plates backing the gear bolts with an angled piece that also bolts horizontally into the carbon reinforcement webs.
  • Devise a clean way to keep the brake lines in the slots that run down the gear legs. Option 1: silicone caulk.
  • Wheel pants:
  • Anti-chafe tape for the gear leg fairings
  • Align main wheels for proper toe-in/out
